That's a strange problem to have. What were you playing? Was it music or a video? What app were you using? If you tried to play music with a different app, would it play at full volume?

Spotify Volume A Lot Lower On Mac Catalina

Playback on Mac desktop client is lower than other services even at maximum volume, is there anyway to fix this without using a third party app?

• It is not the mixer, cause it is not just in windows app, i use deezer in my cellphone too, and spotify volume is much lower than deezer (but when I am using headphone it is actually nice, because I don't need to set the volume all the time). When I am using the windows app and then I use some of my mp3, the difference is huge, try yourselves.
• Volume INCREDIBLY low through airplay speakers when volume BLASTING for all other inputs. Thanks to apple, my internal speakers in my DELL XPS Studio A1, were blown to. I can't even get replacement parts to repair, since the DELL is from 2009. These built in speakers were JBL speakers, HI end.
• I would say both spotify, set to normal stream and Apple Music are about the same volume and quality. If I put spotify on the higher setting then 'perhaps' spotify just beats Apple Music by quality, but the volume level is still virtually the same, maybe spotify just has the edge, but it's really difficult to set them apart.

When this happens, go to System Preferences > Sound and see if the output slider has changed from where you set it (either by dragging or by setting the volume with the volume keys). If the volume slider is staying steady even when the volume drops, that would be strange — but then it would be if the slider moved by itself too.

Does this happen when the Mac is quite warm, or is it typically cold or barely warm to the touch when the volume drops?
